Mid-Carolina AHEC loans NCME videotapes free of charge to any physician practicing in our eleven county service area. Mid-Carolina AHEC ships videotapes third class at the library rate with the US Postal Service. Other physicians practicing in South Carolina may borrow these tapes for a $10 shipping and handling fee, pre-paid.
Mid-Carolina AHEC loans videotapes to physicians for a period of two weeks. If the tape is not returned within three weeks, Mid-Carolina AHEC invoices the physician for replacement ($100.00) of the tape. Mid-Carolina AHEC reserves the right to refuse requests for any of its materials. Patrons with outstanding invoices will be denied materials. NCME videotapes are not available to physicians practicing outside of the state of South Carolina through Mid-Carolina AHEC.
To order these NCME materials, please e-mail Mrs. Rose Mary Cauthen, Office Assistant, or call her at 803-286-4121.
Programs for the Network for Continuing Medical Education (NCME) are made possible through the support of Roche Laboratories, a division of Hoffmann-La Roche, Inc.
Videos marked with (AAFP) are approved for Prescribed credit from the American Academy of Family Physicians. This accreditation is valid for two years from the release date.
All other videos, including those marked (AAFP) are approved by the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association (AMA/PRA) or the American Osteopathic Association and are valid for three years from the release date. Please check the release date when applying for credit to be sure that it falls within the prescribed timelines noted. CME credit designations and learning objectives are located on the back cover of each videotape.
Accreditations:
ACCME Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
AMA American Medical Association
AAFP American Academy of Family Physicians
AOA American Osteopathic Association
To receive CME accreditation, physicians must complete their own NCME Physician Participation Record. Mid-Carolina AHEC does not issue certificates or hours of credit for NCME, nor do we keep rosters of individuals who viewed videotapes from our library. |
