Cheri Plyler, M.B.A., Director

Prior to joining Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. as Director in July 2001, Cheri served as the Associate Director for Catawba-Wateree AHEC, Inc.  She successfully led the regional transition from two AHEC centers (Catawba-Wateree AHEC, Inc. and Midlands AHEC) to one, Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc.  As an active National AHEC Organization Education Committee member, and Model and BT grants reviewer, she represents the region and state at the federal level.  Cheri has a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with both Administration and Education majors from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Masters of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University-Charlotte, North Carolina.

Pam Bartley, RN, CCRN, Multidisciplinary Education Coordinator

Pam Bartley is a nursing graduate of the University of South Carolina with over 20 years experience. She is a coordinator of continuing education courses for Mid-Carolina AHEC and is Training Center faculty for Mid-Carolina AHEC American Heart Association Community Training Center. Her certifications include CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) and CCRN (Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse). She is Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Regional Faculty as well as an instructor-trainer in BLS. She teaches TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum), CATN (Course in Advanced Trauma Nursing), and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) through the SC Emergency Nurses Association. Pam also continues to work part-time as an Emergency Department staff nurse, as a legal nurse consultant, and lectures locally and around the country.

Angel Clark, Health Careers Program (formerly SDDP) Coordinator

Angel Clark, MHRD, has served as the Health Careers Program Coordinator since January of 2001. She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia College, followed by completion of a Masters of Arts degree in Human Resources & Development from Webster University. As Health Careers Coordinator, Angel provides programs and activities for minority students to promote and facilitate their interest in health care careers.

Julie Ghent, Health Professions Student Coordinator

Julie joined Mid-Carolina AHEC in 1997. She has 20 years experience in the Human Resources field and was previously employed as Human Resources Director at Springs Memorial Hospital. Julie received her associate degree from the University of South Carolina. Julie says about her current position, "I thoroughly enjoy working with students and strive to give them a truly wonderful educational experience in our communities."

Jeff Cauthen, MS, Health Professions Student Coordinator
Jeff joined the staff of Mid-Carolina AHEC in 2006 after ten years as a logistics manager in the US Air Force.  A 1993 graduate of The Citadel, he enjoys living in his hometown of Heath Springs and being able to contribute to the AHEC mission of ensuring rural communities in South Carolina have high quality, accessible health care.

 
Steve Donaldson, Information Technology

Steve has a BA in Physical Education and a Master of Aeronautical Science degree. Formerly a flight officer and operations/computer/program analyst for the United States Air Force, he now owns his own company, Steve Donaldson Consulting. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet, Microsoft Certified System Administrator, Microsoft Certified Professional + Internet, and Microsoft Certified Trainer. He is also Network Plus certified and A Plus certified.

Imogene Grubbs, Office Assistant

Imogene was an Honor Graduate from York Technical College in 1996.  She has been a team player with Mid-Carolina AHEC since March of 2002.  She performs various clerical duties including processing CPR, BLS, ACLS, and PALS cards for our Community Training Center.  If you call our office, you will likely have the pleasure of speaking with Imogene.

Pam Harper, A.S., Course Administrator

Pam's contribution to the AHEC team began in 1996.  Pam previously worked for Springs Memorial Hospital for ten years as a medical transcriptionist in Radiology.  With a background in healthcare, she adds informative and collective resources to our design process for accumulating and distributing educational information to our consortium members.

Rose Mary Cauthen, Office Assistant
Rose Mary has fifteen years of clerical experience in the field of healthcare.  She has worked in healthcare insurance, long term care and currently, healthcare education.  She assists the Course Administrator in designing, printing and distributing all materials for programs sponsored by Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc.  Mrs. Cauthen enjoys being part of a team that is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare through continuing education.
 
Kim Roberts, A.S., Office Administrator

Kim has been with Mid-Carolina AHEC since 2000.  She has 14 years experience in the accounting field.  Kim received her associate degree in accounting from York Technical College in 1992.
