This two-part program will provide you with the skills and knowledge to better care for the geriatric population. Part one will discuss the quality of customer service in healthcare, importance of anticipating family needs and displaying an attitude of readiness, the developmental states of the geriatric patient and how to distinguish between typical age-related changes and pathological disease processes. Part two of the program will discuss the pharmacologic considerations in geriatrics. This will include the medication cost, adverse drug reactions, physiologic changes affecting absorption, distribution, and elimination.
