LEARNING OUTCOME: This course will identify the reasons for utilization of lab testing for patient care. It will discuss the anemias, hematology, chemistry panels, electrolytes, hepatic functions, ABGs, and many more! There will be a discussion of specific lab test for individual patient diagnoses and case studies with various lab tests. At the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to recall various laboratory tests for different patient diagnoses with the ability to differentiate normal versus abnormal results.

NURSING: Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction, by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation. This program, approval #1510-040-PR-294 is approved for 6.6 hours.
AHEC: This program is approved for 0.6 CEU’s (6.6 clock hours) of continuing education by Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONERS: 6.6 clock hours will be awarded by Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc., an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
Participants must attend 90% of the program in order to receive a certificate of attendance.

Registrations are accepted until class is filled. Registration assures placement, materials and notification if class is canceled. Registration is not complete until money is received along with the registration form. Written cancellation received two (2) weeks prior to the program date will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations received later than two weeks prior to the program, or failure to attend the program, are not refundable.
