Health Professions Students

Through our Health Professions Students (HPS) program, Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. provides support for clinical rotations for health professions students across our eleven-county region. Services provided vary according to the particular needs and goals of each academic program. Some of the services currently provided include:

• Identification of clinical rotation sites
• Assistance in locating housing resources. Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. maintains cluster housing, for students affiliated with in-state institutions, within a reasonable driving distance to a majority of our clinical sites.
• Student orientation to the community
• Networking with community health agencies
• Clinical site visits
• Technology support

Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. provides support for clinical rotations for medical students, physician assistant students, nursing students, and health professions students involved in the South Carolina Rural Interdisciplinary Program of Training (SCRIPT).

Additional rotations in allied health can be provided upon request for students enrolled in health profession degree programs in the state of South Carolina.

* Students from out-of-state academic programs seeking clinical rotations, please contact our HPS coordinators for help with a placement. Housing is also available for a nominal fee.
