3rd Annual Sweet Science Conference

We would like to invite you to attend the 3rd Annual Sweet Science Conference which is scheduled on March 13 & 14, 2020 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The 3rd Annual Sweet Science Conference is a partnership between Mid-Carolina AHEC and the South Carolina Youth Diabetes Association (SCYDA).  The conference will focus on diabetic education for pediatric nurses with a concentration on school nurses.   Attendees will have a unique opportunity to participate in hands-on sessions that explore the latest in diabetes technology.  This nursing continuing education activity has been approved for 10.25 hours. This program is approved for 1.0 AHEC CEU’s.

Hands-on stations are available this year to give you the opportunity to practice and ask questions relating to the latest trends in diabetes technology.  The hands-on sessions have been approved for 2.0 hours.  This program is approved for 0.2 AHEC CEU's.

We will have a Pre-Conference Workshop on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 9:00am-11:00am.  Registration Fee:  $50.00
Experiencing Diabetic Technology - Traci P. Scott, RN, CDE and Benjamin Adams Dennis
At the Pre-Conference you will experience Diabetic Technology through hands on training and lecture. Participants will be able to use bolus screen/history screen, find insulin on board on pump, do basic pump trouble shooting: identify malfunctioning sites, check time and date in settings; identify basic CGM patterns, understand the use of arrows; and a brief demonstration for the correct use of phone apps to assist children/families with diabetes.  This nursing continuing education activity has been approved for 2.0 hours. This program is approved for 0.2 AHEC CEU’s.
