Training Programs

Mid-Carolina AHEC is part of the authorized network of American Heart Association Training Centers and works closely with the South Carolina Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee (SC ECC) to provide courses in the following programs:

  • First Aid
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support - Instructor (BLS-I)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Instructor (ACLS-I)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Instructor (PALS-I)
  • Heartsaver CPR
  • Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

Through partnerships with training sites throughout the midlands, Mid-Carolina AHEC’s American Heart Association Community Training Center includes more than 500 instructors and certifies/recertifies more than 12,000 individuals annually. This reach disseminates high-quality training via local community sites, enabling healthcare professionals to maintain their certifications and trains community members in basic lifesaving skills.

Basic Life Support Check Offs

Part 1 of the BLS course is offered through the American Heart Association. After completion of Parts 1 and 2 will you be awarded a BLS card.

CPR Replacement Cards

To re-access your card after you have claimed it:

  • Visit the e-card website.
  • Enter info under student tab (first name, last name, and email address)
  • Then hit SEARCH button.
  • You will need to answer your security question and hit SUBMIT to re-access your eCard.

If you are still having trouble claiming your card, please contact the American Heart Association Customer Service at 1 (800) 242-8721. If you have questions regarding CPR or electronic eCards, please email your request.
