Cheri received her MBA, with Finance and Marketing majors, from Pfeiffer University Charlotte Campus and her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree, with Administration and Education majors, from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Prior to joining AHEC in 1994, Cheri was a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Springs Memorial Hospital. Regionally, she works with a diverse group of partners to support the core service areas of continuing professional development, health professions student clinical experiences and health careers exploration. Statewide, Cheri works with academic centers, hospitals, clinical partners and community leaders to support infrastructure development necessary for recruitment and retention. At the Federal level, she has served on the National AHEC Organization’s Education and Model AHEC grant review committees.

Rebecca Jackson, BSN, RN, Continuing Professional Development Coordinator
Rebecca Jackson BSN, RN received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. She has over 14 years experience as a Registered Nurse. She has a background in medical surgical nursing, patient education, critical care nursing, home health and hospice. She is currently a Continuing Professional Development Coordinator with Mid-Carolina, AHEC.
Angie Clements, BA, MLT, (ASCP), Continuing Professional Development Coordinator
Mid-Carolina AHEC is excited to introduce Angie Clements as our newest Continuing Professional Development Coordinator. Angie received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She worked at Springs Memorial Hospital for 28 years as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Angie’s duties included Point of Care Coordinator, Serology, UA department supervisor and performing other lab tests. She is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
Julie Ghent, Health Professions Student Coordinator
Julie joined Mid-Carolina AHEC in 1997. She has 20 years experience in the Human Resources field and was previously employed as Human Resources Director at Springs Memorial Hospital. Julie received her associate degree from the University of South Carolina. Julie says about her current position, "I thoroughly enjoy working with students and strive to give them a truly wonderful educational experience in our communities."
Imogene Grubbs, AHA Assistant
Imogene was an Honor Graduate from York Technical College in 1996. She has been a team player with Mid-Carolina AHEC since March of 2002. She performs various clerical duties including processing CPR, BLS, ACLS, and PALS cards for our Community Training Center. Pam Harper, A.S., Continuing Professional Development Administrator
Pam joined Mid-Carolina AHEC in 1996 as the Course Administrator to provide administrative support for the organization. Pam is an integral part of the Continuing Professional Development team. Her duties also include website administration and management, marketing, database management and analyzing reports for the consortium.
Rose Mary Cauthen, Continuing Professional Development Assistant
Mrs. Cauthen joined the staff at Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. in 2002. She has twenty-two years of clerical experience in the field of healthcare. She has worked in healthcare insurance, long term care and currently, healthcare education. She assists the Course Administrator in designing, printing and distributing all materials for programs sponsored by Mid-Carolina AHEC. Mrs. Cauthen enjoys being part of a team that is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare through continuing education.
Kim Roberts, A.S., Office Administrator
Kim has been with Mid-Carolina AHEC since 2000. She has 25 years experience in the accounting field. Kim received her associate degree in accounting from York Technical College in 1992. She manages the operational functions within the office, as well as, administers the accounting functions associated with the financial records.
Whitney Rojas joined Mid-Carolina AHEC in August 2017 as the Health Careers Coordinator. Whitney received her Bachelor’s of Science in Family and Consumer Science with a Concentration in Adolescent Studies from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Whitney has a passion for working with children. She looks forward to working with different students and communities throughout their mission in pursuing a career in healthcare. We are excited to have Whitney as part of our AHEC team!
